Biography 2008 - 2013 Bachelor's degree in computer science at the University of Perugia 2013 - 2015 Master's degree in Bioinformatics at the University of Bologna - Alma Mater Studiorum The background I acquired during the master's degree in Bologna is primarily focused on protein secondary structure prediction using homology modelling and probabilistic and machine learning approaches (GOR method, Hidden Markov Models, Neural Networks, Support Vector Machines). I joined the genomics research group in PRBB (Barcelona Biomedical Research Park) for a six month internship under the supervision of professor Nuria Lopez-Bigas. Throughout the internship I understood and learned the biological mechanisms underlying cancer process. I helped to develop basis of the computational method to search for druggability options for loss-of-function genes in cancer. I describe this method and the experience acquired during the six months in my thesis entitled: "Pinpointing Indirect Targeting Strategies for Cancer Driver Genes".
